Symmetrical shelves make a glam kitchen practical.

Designer Brian Gluckstein used ebony cabinets, brushed metal accents and warm white Calacatta marble for the counters and backsplash in this kitchen. Refusing to give up function for form, he also installed smart shelving on either side of the range for commonly-used bottles and books.

Emeco Stools, White Sub Tile (still think it’s a timeless look and a bit more reasonable, contrast in shelving and the Wolf and the cool antique rugs)

It’s mine. Hands down. I even have those barstools already. What makes this kitchen so ideal? The contrast of dark cabinets (loving navy right now) with white counters, modern stools with an antique rug, all that light, and classic subway tiles. Oh, and there’s an animal on the island. That looks familiar.I’ll go on. This kitchen embraces the no-upper-cabinets design without looking too austere or modern; plus, the owners didn’t replace cabinets with shelves, as so many people do, where piles of dishes just look ripe for frequent dusting.

“We wanted the kitchen to feel back-of-house and front-of-house at the same time,” says Drake.

kitchen; very relaxed stove top with the pop of red! and the sink; just like what yours could look like.  I like the side build-ons too.
